HiRise™ receives NMPA approval

HiRise™ Receives NMPA Approval in China

Expanding access to weight bearing CT imaging

CurveBeam AI’s HiRise™ weight bearing CT system has received approval from China’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), enabling commercial sales in China and marking an important milestone in expanding access to the technology.

HiRise provides three-dimensional imaging of the lower extremities while patients are standing under physiological load. This allows clinicians to assess musculoskeletal anatomy in a weight bearing position, providing information that may not be apparent from conventional non-weight bearing imaging alone. The technology supports orthopedic assessment and surgical planning.

The approval advances CurveBeam AI’s strategic partnership with Shandong WeiYing Intelligent Medical Technology Co., Ltd. Established in October 2025, the collaboration combines CurveBeam AI’s imaging technology with WeiYing’s local regulatory expertise, medical device industry relationships, and distribution capabilities.

CurveBeam AI’s engagement with the orthopedic community in China also includes the use of HiRise in a research setting.

“NMPA approval moves us beyond regulatory preparation and into commercialisation,” said CurveBeam AI CEO Greg Brown. “We can now work with our Partner to commence sales, build customer relationships and establish HiRise™ in China.”

Achieved on the early end of the expected timeline, the approval reflects the work of CurveBeam AI’s international team and its Chinese partner. The companies will now focus on commercial launch activities, developing the distribution pipeline, and supporting the introduction of HiRise to the Chinese market.

CurveBeam AI will also be part of WEGO’s exhibit at the Chinese Orthopaedic Association (COA) Annual Congress, taking place November 11–15, 2026, in Guangzhou, China. The congress will provide an opportunity to continue engaging with the orthopedic community as the partners advance the introduction of HiRise in China.

For CurveBeam AI, this milestone is another step toward making weight bearing CT imaging available to more orthopedic care teams and the patients they serve.
